Road traffic goes then stops, then goes and stops

Featured Replies

Anyone know what is happening here. The traffic moves for a few seconds then stops and then moves a little bit then stops. Any help would be appreciated.Cheers Nels

This happens when new elevation data has been loaded in as you move along, and the freeways are being adjusted to the new terrain mesh. I don't see it happen very commonly, though. Where exactly are you flying when you see it?

Hi Brian, thanks for replying. I have this problem every where. I have been in very flat terrain and it still happens. I have seen it near Niagra falls, Trenton Ontario Canada, Vancouver, LA ,San Deiago etc etc. On my sysatem it happens contsantly. Any other solutions or is it a setting with my setup..Cheers Nels

Has anyone else seen this problem?? Do your cars stop every 3to 4 seconds. There should be enough users out there now to know if this is only related to my machine or is a bigger problem. This should certainly be noticeable and it is very disappointing.Cheers Nels

I saw it on the Helicopter mission Tokyo Executive Transport. The cars were running and then stopped, then started again, as far as I remember they continued on from there ok. It was just as I was approaching the first building. The fps were that rubbish that they were stuttering anyway. My Spec:P4 3.2GHz 800FSBnVidia 256MB GeForce 6800GT2GB DDR400 PC3200

Yes, it happens on my machine as well. I only see it happening when there's quite a load on the system (major city areas). I assumed it was due to traffic being given a lower processing priority when things get loaded up. That's was just a guess though. I definitely take what Brian said above since he's certainly in the know! I appreciate your participation here, Brian! I think FSX is an amazing evolotion and look forward to it blossoming in the months and years to come!DougDell XPS Gen3 (3.6GHz/800FSB) | 2GB DDR SDRAM | 74GB SATA, 10k RPM (C: ) | 120GB SATA (D: ) | 512MB ATI Radeon X1900XTX (Catalyst 6.8) | Audigy 2 ZS Sound | MS Force Feedback 2 | WindowsXP Pro (SP2) | DirectX 9.0c

I see it quite a bit around the KASH area.Dave

I am seeing the same issue primarily when approaching a major city or airport. Major Airports (KPHL) and cities (Philadelphia) drag my FPS from 20 to 8 to 12. I also have FS Genesis 10meter mesh. Bob..

Hi Thank you all for replying. I guess it is an issue we all have and will have to deal with until hopefully a solution is found.Cheers Nels
