Activesky textures in FSX

Featured Replies

I head someone tried putting the activesky textures in FSX and it worked. I always liked the AS6 textures and would like to try. Which folder would the files go in, and would they need converting?

AS site says you can use their "engine" but not their graphics (yet), but perhaps someone has some of it working. Yes, I also liked their clouds better. FSX clouds still do not impress me ... addons and 3rd party really improved FS9 clouds, so I hope we see that happen for FSX.

HI All,For those used ASG, There will be major announcement on Web site pretty soon that's will include MY name and surprise! I suggest for all previous ASG users to wait our announcement for our alternative external ASG solution product to be replaced.ThanksChris Willis

I understood someone had it working, and it was just a matter of copying the files over. I'm just not sure if you need to convert them first.

i assume you have your favourite set installed in FS9 already--copy the BMP files that begin with cirrus, cld, cumulonimbus, cumulus and stratus over their counterparts in FSX. backup the original textures first if you're not sure what you're doing. i don't use AS clouds myself, but it should work for those, too (at least the 32-bit ones, dunno about DXT)
