  1. A few folks have had trouble trying to play the MP4, so I've uploaded the .wmv version, which happens to be better anyway ... clearer especially.Movie link:http://www.weatherroanoke.com/wm/GEVflight.wmv
  2. I'm thinking about getting the new hot Flight1 Cessna Mustang. It (and increasingly more new titles) requires SP2.I'm using Vista 32b just fine so far. For SP2 I've heard about runway problems, older aircraft not working at all, etc.But what I REALLY care about is that SP2 does NOT hurt or ruin TileProxy. Any experiences out there?I'm also nervous about the IDEAL of a clean install. I have so many aircraft and addons with keys, etc. I'm hesitant to start all over again. But TP and SP2 is what I'm interested in right now. Thanks.
  3. Well, before the last update/upgrade, I had to stop sometimes and let it "catch up." The update has made it faster, now. Slow jet speeds work better, but you can forget real time Cessna Citation X!I use FRAPS, though 1st video was simply with a video camera (which other than artifacting, looks actually more real to me - with camera motion).
  4. OMG - I did it again - misspelled the name! That's what I get for relying on my memory (age 55 now). Thanks for not frying me.I do love making the videos, though. I know it's been said before ... but FSX is now at such a new level. I'm so grateful for TP!
  5. I did say VFR for scenery, but I had to be IFR rated to handle the cloud deck. So, sometimes it's fun to mingle with the clouds as well.v.8 TP.Near Jefferson, NC.http://www.weatherroanoke.com/wm/GEVthumb.jpgMovie link:http://www.weatherroanoke.com/wm/GEVflight.mp4For those who prefer YouTube but it will not be nearly as crisp and clear, and NOT in stereo sound.
  6. It's a setting in nHancer graphic card utility. It's supposed to help keep areas behind plane from blurrying up too fast, but I can't tell much difference on mine right now (NVidia GeForce 9600GT).Here are a couple more pics...Nashville, TNhttp://www.weatherroanoke.com/wm/Nashville01x.jpghttp://www.weatherroanoke.com/wm/Nashville04x.jpgMt. 7. Blurry may be due to flying too fast for TP to "catch up," at least for the computer you're using. I say maybe, because I'm not sure.Graining may be because of your card. I have discovered that if I don't do the LOD "clamp" ... my textures are quite grainy.
  8. The board killed the uploads, but it seems to allow remote linking, so ... if that is allowed (using link to my server):http://www.weatherroanoke.com/wm/Pacific01ax.jpghttp://www.weatherroanoke.com/wm/Pacific02ax.jpghttp://www.weatherroanoke.com/wm/Pacific03ax.jpghttp://www.weatherroanoke.com/wm/Pacific04ax.jpghttp://www.weatherroanoke.com/wm/Pacific06ax.jpgPlus one over Tallahassee, FLhttp://www.weatherroanoke.com/wm/TLHax.jpg and one over my home town area (Roanoke/Salem, VA) in Premier 1 jethttp://www.weatherroanoke.com/wm/ROAtoGSO01a.jpg finally, over Ocala, FLhttp://www.weatherroanoke.com/wm/Ocala01a.jpghttp://www.weatherroanoke.com/wm/Ocala03a.jpg
  9. 10. Well, I used fraps on all buthttp://www.weatherroanoke.com/wm/flight3a.wmvThat one, I used an actual video camera, shooting the screen. The bad and good, is ... that I got some artifacts, but I also get a realistic "camera" moving effect, like it was really shot with a video camera.Yes, FRAPS is a hog - you can barely get by with it with a QUAD-CORE if you use FSX. (You can see SOME stutters, if you look close at my videos).Oh ... and Christian, sorry ... I think I misspelled your last name in the videos.
  11. At the following links (on my site)...http://www.weatherroanoke.com/wm/flight3a.wmvhttp://www.weatherroanoke.com/wm/flight4.wmvhttp://www.weatherroanoke.com/wm/Premier1.wmvhttp://www.weatherroanoke.com/wm/float01.wmvhttp://www.weatherroanoke.com/wm/GC01.wmvThe last one is in the Grand Canyon. Stunning scenery!I can't say enough, how TP has revolutionized FS flying.
  12. So much eye candy ... so little time!Plus one shot over Cumming, GA - a busy intersection!
  13. I love this VLJ (this one by Eaglesoft, though discontinued).TP continues to make FS a whole new experience. We can't thank you enough.Link for viewing clip:http://www.weatherroanoke.com/wm/Premier1.wmvWhadda y'all think?
  14. This flight I did actually a earlier than my last video posted. But this one is a jet flight - with TP!http://www.weatherroanoke.com/wm/flight3a.wmvThis was with a video cam, before I got FRAPS. The only advantage to the video cam is that it really has a moving feel like a real cam would.
  15. Sure. No problem. You are so open and giving in this project, I certainly can do no less. (In other words, it's a pleasure). You should see the quality of the original AVI file. It's amazing how much detail there can be.
  16. Hey Benjamin,My guess is that:One thing that does happen is that tiles are loading in at different resolutions (of course, because you are at different distances from different land tiles at any one given moment), so in some services in some places ... the quality, LIGHTING, and even color can VARY greatly even between, say, the 4m, 2m, and 1m res tiles loading in. And, sometimes, it seems random how the tiles first start loading around you. It may start towards the left side and work around. Conversely, the tiles on the left may be the last to load in at the highest (or higher) res. Thus, I notice sometimes I get different looking tiles even somewhat close by. It is really even more common at the distance where the very lower res may actually be satellite data instead of aerial. If the visuals are too disjunct, then I sometimes just change to a different service.
  17. This is the first time I've put it all together...FSX, Tileproxy, Yoke/pedals/throttle quad, TrackIR, and FRAPS.TP is what makes it great! The Orion Maule is great for visibility.Click for video:http://www.weatherroanoke.com/wm/flight4.wmvMake sure your player is at least 800 by 500, as it is a higher res video.
  18. I have Flight Environment Extreme (FEX) installed, as well as Ultimate Terrain US. FSX SP2 NOT installed, just SP1.Perhaps a reinstall of ultimate terrain may at least put in it's textures (land and sea)? How would I "turn off" FTX?I "transferred" FSX from an Athlon 4600+ (dual core) to a Quad Q6600. I'm pretty sure it worked fine at first after the transfer (I Acronis-ed it then, so I could always go back to a working run).It makes a new install of some software like UT strange, because "reverting back to default" won't ... because it already has UT in there.
  19. I now have no oceans, just land textures where oceans should be.See attachment of flight over Key West. Even the land textures don't seem to be right for the keys.Quad Q6600, 3 Gig, NVidia GForce 9600, VISTA, FSX SP1.I have used Tileproxy and Earthtiles. They both still work perfectly, and I do get coastlines and oceans just fine with them.I've check my terrain.cfg, and it looks the same as a backup of the original.I've been using Ultimate Terrain for a long time w/no problems. How can I track down correct land textures? Any suggestions?
  20. It happens other places, too, like Pensacola, FL.I'll try the disabling, but I suppose it could be the terrain.cfg. I did some backups of most of my FSX on DVDs. I'll start substituting otherwise.
  21. Well, after using TP very happily for a long while, I decided to do a quick run in "normal" mode - w/o TP.Suddenly now, it seems all my landtype tiles are mixed up, and the ocean is now land tiles. Look at this shot of over Key West, FL.Not even the land seems right for the key.I can't particularly say this is the fault of TP, but am wondering if anyone else has had this happen after running TP, and any suggestions for a fix (besides starting ALL OVER again with FSX installation).Interestingly, when I run TP again, oceans are correct and coastlines look great!
  22. I have this happening as well. I've wondered if "cleaning up the world folder" program helps. I think I remember being advised to do this if upgrading to higher versions. It IS frustrating, causing me to "jump" to another service in the middle of things, which can gum up the continuity of scenery as well.Perhaps someone else has an idea.
  23. Thanks. Hmmm, I already have 2x enabled for water, mid-level I think.I was using FSX. I have more clips and stills posted atwww.flightsimworld.com on their screenshot forums. The FL panhandle also has some of the best coastal scenery (service 1).
  24. I've used TP since early 7. Had it going quite well in my last XP computer. (Already wonderful)Finally got a Quad core w/Vista/DX10 - but now...I get the same error messages on startup after the C:[program location]:ProxyUser: Volume listing failed with error 0X80070005ProxyUser: Making sure SuperFetch service is not runningProxyUser: connecting to the filterProxyUser: ERROR connecting to the filter port 0x80070002I've been setting permissions like crazy.I've disabled all DX9 hooks. Here's the twist. The install of TP does NOT create the 4 cache folders for the four services in the MS Games folder. Isn't it supposed to do that on install? Is there a permissions thing here, too?UPDATE: Well, it appears you REALLY DO HAVE TO totally disable the UAC and reboot.Success! I do occasionally get some small color squares on the terrain, but otherwise, ... so far, it's running on this Vista just fine.
  25. GOSH - Sorry, I didn't see the same message on nearby topic.JUST IGNORE - or delete (I couldn't do that).HELP!I've used TP since early 7. Had it going quite well in my last XP computer. Finally got a Quad core w/Vista/DX10 - but now...I get error messages on startup after the C:[program location]:ProxyUser: Volume listing failed with error 0X80070005ProxyUser: Making sure SuperFetch service is not runningProxyUser: connecting to the filterProxyUser: ERROR connecting to the filter port 0x80070002I've disabled all DX9 hooks, etc.Any ideas? Thanks!
