Rudder movement

Recommended Posts

I picked up the B120 on the sale. After installing I found the rudder does not move. Looked all over thinking there might be a rudder lock. When you looking the cockpit and move the saitek rudder peddles the peddles in the cockpit move but when you go to outside view and look the rudder does not move. Any suggestion. I know the Carenado webpage has been very slow so thought I would wait until there sale is over and true to download and reinstall again. I use FSUIPC and tried to setup profile but that didn't help either.

Thank

Dick

I'm not familiar with this aircraft, but this issue has been raised with other simulations. Do you have anything programmed as a steering tiller. This usually disables the rudder movement when stationary, or taxying. The changeover speed is typically about 40 knots. So up to that speed the pedals will still show movement, but the rudder will remain centred. Then above that speed the rudder progressively takes over.

Check your control axis assignments in the simulator and in FSUIPC, looking for steering tiller and also check for any duplicated assignments.

Does the rudder not move on ground as well or does this problem only occur in flight? In flight the reason might be the engaged yaw damper

Thanks guys for the input. I do not use a steering tiller but just use pedals. During my profile build for FSUIPC I did some testing. Last night I may have had yaw damper on so made sure it was off today. Biggles you were right I did outside view while taxiing and as speed picker up rudder move with main gear steering. took a flight with it and everything seems to work pretty good. I finished up profile for FSUIPC. Just had some assignment problems with switched but worked around that. Some of my other Carenado plans have same problems. Just use mouse.

Need to look through forum to see how to shut fuel off to engines. Found the little red shutoffs but can't make them work. I'll keep trying. Built new computer so looking at P3D so look like good plane for that. Graphics aren't supper great for FSX but will work OK until I get things up and running on new machine.

Thanks for the help. This forum is a great place to get help.
