The most common reasons for locked waypoints during import are: 1) there is a waypoint with a name that has duplicates in the Garmin database, Garmin will not let the GNS decide which of the duplicates for you. If you are manually entering such a waypoint the GNS will prompt you to choose which of the duplicates you want to use. The import process however cannot handle providing you with a choice. The example I often use is the first I encountered, BUNKA in the USA state of Indiana. BUNKA is also in the database as a waypoint in the country of Ivory Coast. There are USA waypoint names with duplicates also in the USA. I find that very interesting. They are always a number of states apart. 2) if you are using a procedure such as an departure or arrival, the naming/numbering convention may have sequenced. ex. CHICKN3 may have become CHICKN4, -or- little navmap and the GNS database you have in use may not agree on whether it is 3 or 4 at the time of flight planning and then import. I have written a couple of topics here about these and I see the links provided above do not point to any of those. If you want more to read about it then look through the list of topics. Some may instead be in the RXP FSX/P3D GTN forum. The same import issues exist there as well. It is a safeguard built in by Garmin. I do not have time right now to find one or two of those topics and point you to them.
