April 1, 20206 yr Hi, I need to install P3DV4 on a new computer. Right now, I have very little installed on that system. It seems stable, so I think I am ready to go. It is a FS dedicated rig. UAC is disabled. I am not using any 3rd party virus protection - only what comes with Windows 10 pro. I have a couple questions. 1. What is the process I need to go through with the P3D license? I believe I recall that I have to deactivate the old system first. 2. Once I deactivate the old system, do I need to uninstall everything, or can I leave the files in place? I'd like to preserve the install, so I can move some of my files over to the new system. I really don't want to back everything up somewhere, because I don't know if I have the free drive space on the old system. 3. Aside from all of my drivers, is there anything I need to install on the new system before I install P3D. Thanks for your help. Any additional advice is welcome. April 1, 20206 yr Author Hmm, didn't realize all of the sickies moved to a tips and tricks forum (I have this forum bookmarked, and I it is my main destination on AVSIM). Pretty sure at least a couple questions I asked are addressed in there, but any additional advice is still welcome. April 1, 20206 yr Moderator I'm pretty sure you can deactivate and reinstall on a different computer keeping the old files on old system. Obviously, since it is deactivated, it will not run on the old system. Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
April 1, 20206 yr Author Thanks. I think I'm all set with this question. I'd delete if I could. Nonetheless, it is always fun to load the sim for the first time on a new system and see 250fps in 4k:) MSFS Premium Deluxe Edition; Windows 11 Pro, I9-9900k; Asus Maximus XI Hero; Asus TUF RTX3080TI; 32GB G.Skill Ripjaw DDR4 3600; 2X Samsung 1TB 970EVO; NZXT Kraken X63; Seasonic Prime PX-1000, LG 48" C1 Series OLED, Honeycomb Yoke & TQ, CH Rudder Pedals, Logitech G13 Gamepad
