Hitting Invisible Walls In The Sky — Weird Terrain Problem

Featured Replies

Recently, I've had this strange problem of flying at altitude and then have your aircraft suddenly slam into the ground as if it were hit by a giant fly swatter or something.  The aircraft still has momentum so I'm able to fly back to cruse alt as I have the crash settings turned off.  That's because I've had problems teleporting to locations and have the aircraft materalize a couple of feet above the ground and the simulator would register it as a crash — but I've never had this happen at altitude.  I've also had problems trying to land once or twice with the ground elevation set much higher than the depicted runway level and the aircraft slides along as if it were on an invisible surface.

Hi...

Also had this problem in the past.

Make sure to set the mesh resolution not higher than 5m, this should solve it.

Sounds a bit strange to pay for a premium mesh and the reduce quality, but for me it made not too much difference and you're not going to slam into the ground 😉

In my case it's FS Global 2010. I assume that this problem only appears when using a 3rd party mesh addon...

I've never seen it with the default mesh of P3D.
