April 15, 20206 yr When at PANC the radio in P2A is initially tuned to Z41 Tower. I have tried all of the Clearance Delivery radio frequencies that I found on the internet and none will allow me to "Request IFR Clearance"'. I Connect OK between P2A and X-Plane 11, so I must be doing something wrong. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
April 15, 20206 yr Commercial Member Assuming your radio is on and connected, with the Pwr indicator Green, then you can press the Freq button to the right of the map and get a list of the nearby frequencies, with the closest ones first....so PANC will be on top under any Center controllers. You can also press the Info button to the right of the flight plan and if PANC is not in the ICAO box in the upper left, you can enter it and press Enter. The Frequencies will show up in the Frequencies box. Sometimes the internet and chart frequencies might differ. Be sure to use the ones listed in P2A. ClrDel is 119.4 or 128.65 at PANC. Dave
April 15, 20206 yr Author Hi Dave, Thanks for the prompt response. Those two frequencies (119.4 & 128.65) are the ones that I tried before and just now. The reply from ATC is 'aircraft calling ANCHORAGE Clearance Delivery on { }. It appears that you are on the wrong frequency. And thanks for the tip about where to find frequencies!
April 15, 20206 yr Commercial Member Ahh. I got it. Z41 is a water airport right next to PANC. If you are parked closer to Z41 than PANC, based on the airport markers, this will happen. Click the airport display button 4 times to show all airports and try moving your starting position closer to the PANC airport marker. This is one of very few airports on the planet that has this problem. Such is life in Alaska. Dave
April 15, 20206 yr Author Makes sense, thanks Dave I'll try out your recommendation when I fly this evening. If you don't hear from me all is well. Thanks again!
