October 16, 200619 yr Hi there,I have just attempted to fly one of the light aircraft in FSX.I have noticed that all the light aircraft seem to yaw quite severly to the right on take and even when airborne?? I currently use the CH Pro Pedals and Flight Yoke and have calibrated them a number of times with no avail??Its a very odd sort of thing, as i say i only experience it when flying the smaller genral aviation aircraft!! I can fly the airliners without any issues??Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on how to oversome this phenomenan?? I have tried to trim it out but the aurcraft still yaws of it's own accord!?!?! I have noticed the same thing in FS9 too!!Has anyone else experienced this??RegardsJetset843d
October 16, 200619 yr You'll get some yaw on takeoff depending on the aircraft and the number of engines. But up in the wild blue yonder you should be ok except for winds.I have old Thrustmaster and all is ok.You need to calibrate your rudders accurately first. Then check the null and sensitivity settings in FSX; maybe even default the settings in FSX for the joystick.

October 16, 200619 yr and if you fly an old Limey prop aircraft - like the DH Chipmunk - you'll find it pulls the other way. . . Check out your realism settings - torque, "p" effect and gyro. . . i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.

On the ground, you're going to yaw a bit due to the engines (you think that's bad, try the tail draggers without locking the rear wheel!) In the air, it's most likely wind gusts. Those will knock a GA aircraft around a bit but don't really do much to the "heavies".For the yawing on the runway, remember, as you're picking up speed, a little rudder pedal goes a LONG way.. First thing I do on take off is take my feet out of the pedals and just rest my toes on the "heal" plate of the pedals. That way I'm more inclined to do small movements rather than overcompensate. Other alternative is to use a little differential braking to control the yawing, but that can have a detremental effect on trying to achieve takeoff speed, so I don't recommend it unless you have a LOT of runway to play with.--2002cbr600f4i
October 16, 200619 yr I hope you mean to the left, as that's the direction that most single aircraft included with FS9/FSX should go. Takes "right rudder" to maintain runway centerline on the roll and climbout.L.Adamson
October 17, 200619 yr Commercial Member I also have pro pedals, and one thing you might want to check is your differential braking. I've found FSX to be a lot more sensitive to them than FS9 was. Often when starting off down the runway my plane will pull to one side, even on a twin engine jet with no wind. No P-factor or torque there, or wind against my vertical stabilizer throwing me off. Turned out my brakes were on ever so slightly on one side, even though I wasn't pushing on the pedals. Maybe check your dead zones on them, fixed it for me. Mike Johnson - Lotus Simulations
October 17, 200619 yr Author Allcott,You don't need to tell me about realism budyy, i'm a student airline pilot and have flown many ga aircraft and so i have a pretty good idea what realism is:-)I have also flown one of BA's A320 full motion sims and so when it comes to realism i think i know what to expect?!?My issue was an excessive amount of yawThanks for your reply all contibutions are grately appreciatedRegardsJetSet843D
