There are two bulbs out on my Saitek Multi-panel.  Has anyone replaced these before?  What bulb type?  Any LED substitutes?

Interested also. Same problem with one light.

OK.  I looked everywhere for someone that makes repairs on this.  I tried two local TV repair places and both declined.  So I decided to try to repair it myself and will post the procedures that worked for me.  First, I downloaded the Logitech Flight Panels Test Software and clicked on the test LED lights box.  The software cycles through the components including lighting the LED bulbs one at a time.  I found that all the LED lights except for the HDG button was working.  Next I started the disassembly of the multi panel.  Looking at the back of the panel, you will see eight screws.  You need to remove all of them with a #1 Phillips screwdriver.  The four screws on the ends are shorter than the other four.  Now you need to unsnap the two cover pieces.  I had best luck starting at one of the covers and using a medium sized flat-head screwdriver to start separating the two pieces.  I used some plastic automobile trim removal tools to maintain an opening between the pieces while I used the screwdriver to continue snapping it apart along one of the long edges.   I now have the two pieces separated.  My next steps will be remove the stress relief clamp on the cable so that I can slide the two cover pieces further apart.  I can see the LEDs are attached to a small circuit board.  So next plans are to remove the screws to the circuit board and try to find where the LEDs are connected the board.  Then I will take the diagnostic software again and try to measure voltage to the bulb and look for any soldering issues for the bulb.  If there is voltage and the solder joints look OK, I will know that bulb needs to be replaced.  I am guessing that these lamps will be either 3v or 5v LED rice lamps but I can confirm soon.  Will post again with pictures and maybe a part number for the lamp for anyone that needs to repair their own.

Keep up posted with your progress. As soon as I know wich type of LED is required, I may try also this repair procedure...

I have the same problem with the NAV button/light. Did you manage to repair your HDG one. How do I see your next post?

Looks like this thread has been inactive for a long time. You might find some help on YouTube if you search for something like Saitek Multi-Panel Repair.

I know this thread is old, but I did find replacement LEDs on Amazon. As kshaw mentioned, you need to remove the rear panel screws and carefully pry apart the casing. When inside, remove the circuit board screws and gently pry up that board to get access. If you have done PCB repair, you should have no problem in removing the bad LED and replacing. The only problem I had was re-seating the multi segment display panel, it needs to be perfectly aligned, otherwise you get Klingon characters on the display… may take a few attempts. Here is a link to the LEDs:

Problem is, it’s a pack of 100! Still, only US$6.99 for the pack, and the panel works perfectly once again.

Good luck, let me know if any questions.

Alan
