FSX-SE: Altimeter Setting does not change from inHg to hPa

Featured Replies

 Hello all,

I am using fsx SE on a Win10 machine. Unlike in previous installs, changing the metric system to "hybrid" under > Settings > General does not change the Kohlsmann window from inHG to hPa. When I toggle between metric and US systems, the altimeter readout changes from ft to meter and back, that works. There is just no difference between US and hybrid metric systems.

Is there anything I can try besides the "hybrid" setting under > Settings > General?

Thanks a lot,

 Frank

Does the aircraft panel you are using have a dual Kohlsmann window display?  If not, there is no magic to make the numbers change.

 Hello,

thanks for your replies. I tried it with - amongst others - the stock C172. On previous installs the (single) Kollsman (apparently, that's how the gentleman was called according to wikipedia, contrary to MS) window changed from inHg to hPa when selecting "hybrid metrics"

Best regards,

 Frank

I just tried it to be sure.  No change when setting it to Hybrid or Metric.  Also tested many years ago with the same changes that ATC will not respond with millibars instead of inches of mercury, no matter your location in the world.

I just bootet my old laptop to have a look at it. Seems you're right, the Kollsman-window was always in inHg. I played around with the textures a bit. One could actually modify the Gauge_1 file to show hPa instead of inHg.
