Why am I getting red locks in XP11?

It’s not an actual HSI, it’s the VOR indicator.

Sure, I'm just curious why you didn't show the settings which are relevant to 'VOR' in your screenshot then, and explain what was the actual problem, to get started with?

I’m hiking right now.  If you need more detailed information like screenshots or anything at all let me know.  I’m human, I make mistakes like everyone else.  Please forgive me, I’m literally begging you to forgive me.

To recap: you now know why there are red icons and this feature has always been in the GTN. It appears if a 3rd party vendor is locking the settings and I can assure you they won't auto-magically appear. The aircraft must have been updated somehow.

You're asking for help 'connecting' the GTN to the VOR indicator, because it would seem this is not working right now.

I'd suggest:

  1. You review the RXP GTN User's Manual Settings chapter and check which setting is pertaining to VOR (a simple PDF search of the keyword "VOR" should help you find this out quickly).
  2. Make sure the setting you're trying to change is indeed the one indicated in the manual (should be easy because it has VOR in its name...)
  3. If this setting has a red icon, at least, make sure it is enabled. If not enabled but locked, I suggest you contact JF and ask them why did they elect to lock this setting (could be a good reason because this depends on their implementation).

What part of there were ZERO JF updates and what part of the ONLY thing that WAS updated was your GTN do you not understand?  Is there a translation error here?  Do you speak native English or using a translator?

I’m done here.

Please refrain from judging other's language inabilities in the RXP forums.
It is a pleasant discussion place where I won't tolerate any form of racism.

There is no need to be condescending when I'm trying to help you:

  1. I don't know what you've done on your system when restoring nor what files went where.
  2. I do know the 'locked' feature has been there since the first version of the RXP GTN released to the market.
  3. The only difference with or without red lock icons is whether the RealityXP.GTN.ini file has a locked= line and there is no way the RXP GTN is adding this line automagically.
  4. In the end, it doesn't matter knowing why red lock icons are appearing magically on your system, because they can't.
  5. What matters is knowing what the red lock icon means.
  6. Anyhow, regardless of their meaning, this has nothing to do with the problem you're trying to solve which is having the GTN coupling to the VOR indicator instrument on your PA28 panel.
  7. I can't help you further because I don't know, from what you've posted so far, whether you can change the setting which relates to 'connecting the GTN to the VOR' nor I don't know whether the whole 'red lock icon' discussion ever applies to this setting in your context.

Racism, excuse me?  Please show me where I explicitly used ANY form or racism.

I will figure this out on my own.

Good day sir.

@Jack_Sawyer  Did you get this sorted out?  I experienced the same issue and discovered an easy workaround that will open all the Reality settings while in the plane.  Message me if you are interested.

Gosh, that was two years ago.  I’m sorry, I no longer use X-Plane.
