Hi

I have problems with BDO scenery for RJBB and VTSP. The scenery is installed and sits in the Addon Scenery folder in Prepar3d 4.5. When I try to use the scenery, the default scenery is loaded. The scenery isn't listed in the scenery library but if I try to add, I get a dialogue box saying the scenery is already in use. I downloaded the addon manger and neither scenery is listed. When I go to add the scenery, the addon manager also states that the scenery is in use. The scenery is for V4 and is the latest version. Does anyone have any suggestions on how this could be rectified?

Here I have a simular issue :

scenery working in P3Dv5. Then I installed V5 HF . AO added all descriptions.

A few sceneries listed in AO ( scenery tab + package tab are green ) but in V5 HF I also get the default scenery.

Checking the addons.cfg the scenery is not in the list.

I am sure Lorby Si will chime in, but it is Saturday so has his weekend off too..

Hello Craig,

when you add the scenery in P4AO, try to use a different name. This sounds like you may have another scenery somewhere that is causing a simple conflict by having the same title. Could be an artifact of the BDO sceneries from a previous installation attempt? 

Make sure to scroll through the entire scenery library to check that it doesn't hide somewhere else, maybe way down the list. In P4AO a broken entry might be shown in violet color.

Which one? Make sure that you check the correct file, there are two of them.

To make certain if a scenery is supposed to be there or not you have two options:

1. Take a look at the file "C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v5\scenery_add-ons.xml"
2. Create a scenery index report with P4AO, and search for the scenery path in the result. This will tell you if the scenery is seen by the sim or not.

I finally know what is causing this :

I several xml files the path has changed from eg : C\ Flightsim\ Addon name  to C:\Flightsim\Addon name\Scenery

By deleting the entries in AO the xml addon folders were still in Docs\Prepar3D v5. After manually deleting those folders I could make new xml addon entries with AO and that worked right away.

The All will be recognized automatically from Rob McCarthy isn’t entirely perfect it seams.At least I now know how to solve this.

In tried what you suggested but still get the in use message. The BDO scenery just doesn't want to work.
