Strange performance issue, is anyone else seeing this

Featured Replies

Hi All

I am getting great performance with the hot fix mostly (Texture streaming off), around 60-70 FPS with atmospherics on or off loaded will all my goodies but then later when I run the sim (not always) it drops to 20-25 for the exact same planes and scenario but only when atmospherics is off, if I switch atmospherics on fps more than doubles. Now if I reboot my PC when I go back in I have those high frame rates in both situations again until the next time it happens and its a pattern I can reproduce, memory leak or driver problem perhaps. Could be the cause of some confusion and frustration if you miss the pattern. I initially thought this was the hotfix and went off on a rant until I realised what was happening, this caused me a big headache trying to work out the inconsistent FPS situations, still don't know what the hell is going on but at least I can reboot to get my performance back, works every time for me, hope this helps somebody also

Thanks
Wayne

GPU temperature? It’s not thermal throttling? Just a suggestion.

Gpu temperature is well within limits, very odd

My FPS starts normal, then when I switch to an AI plane and switch back to my plane, the FPS is only in the teens. When I restart the sim it goes back to normal. I did not have this issue with the original release.

Haven't tested a long flight yet, but at least I found a way to replicate this issue.
