May 3, 20206 yr So I have the Thrustmaster Flight stick x and for some reason it seems to detect movement of the twist axis even when I am not touching the joystick. In P3D I have the rudder mapped to this control which causes it to constantly move in the sim and makes it so that I have to constantly adjust the rudder to keep the plane straight especially while taxing. In the air the problem isn't as noticeable and can make most flight's just fine. I plan to get a a new joystick but wanted to check here first and see if you had any ideas on a possible fix to this problem. I know it's not just a problem in the sim as it detects the movement in the calibration program that comes with the stick and have tried calibrating it multiple times with no luck. So any ideas on a way to fix this or should I just go ahead and get a new stick? Thanks Jason Thiers
May 3, 20206 yr Have you tried increasing the dead zone of that axis a little bit? Could the twist be sticking slightly and thus not allowing the spring to return the stick to it's centre position properly? Good luck. Thanks I just tries adjusting the null zone in the sim with no luck. I also noticed that sometimes it would move even more when I moved the slider for the throttle which seems weird since they shouldn't be connected. Luckily it's only a $40 so will probably just get a new one. At least I can still fly but it just gets annoying sometimes. Jason Thiers
May 4, 20206 yr Check out the TFlight HOTAS X - that has a twist grip which you can lock out as there is a proportional rocker switch on the throttle you can use to good effect for rudder. I've used one for more than a year now and it's great IMHO. I upgraded to a set of TFRP pedals at Christmas so I don't use either the rocker or the twist for rudder at all now. (Hmmm. I suppose I could see if I can map a tiller to the rocker switch for certain aircraft! .) Anyway I digress: Don't know if you want to check that stick out as it seems to be only 20 to 30 dollars more.
