Now that I’m flying online, having an outdated outdated database when IFR is less than ideal. Can anyone provide 2005, or close to it?

You'll need a real world Garmin database. Since it is the current AIRAC, I don't know if you'll have much luck.

Ok, so I have a friend who updates his nav database in his aircraft via wifi and is willing to share. But the question is how can we transfer this database to a pc to put into the trainer.

Sharing current navdata is a copyright violation, I would think.
