May 11, 20206 yr Hi all I suppose this is a dumb question for you guys. I currently have a fully licensed paid version of Prepar3D v4 Professional 4.5.14.34698, which I gather is the latest version of the 4.5 series. However everyone is installing Prepar3d 5.0. When I go to the Prepar3d download page there seems to be only the option to download Prepar3d 4.5. Will I be able to download Prepar3d 5.0 with my current licence, or do I have to re purchase Prepar3d 5.0 all over again. Or is the current Prepar3d 5.0, some sort of Beta version. If I have to re purchase, is there any difference between the academic license of $59.95 and the Professional license of $199.00 I only use this to fly my PMDG Queen of the skies 747 400 Regards Paul Hursey
May 11, 20206 yr Its a new full release, you have to purchase it. The academic licence has an small watermark in the upper right corner, thats all. System: i9 [email protected] - 32 GB RAM - Aorus 1080ti --- Sim/Addons: P3D v5 + ProSim737
May 11, 20206 yr The Academic and Professional version of P3D are functionally the same, with the watermark displayed when running the Academic version. The licensing conditions for each are, however, different. Please refer to the Prepar3D website for those details, as we do not permit discussions about P3D licensing here.
