October 18, 200619 yr HelloI took my Boeing 777 up to 2.5 million feet using Slew mode. Amazing, the earth was so beatiful and round. Now I need some serious military hardware to experiment with on the edge of space.FS X is great so far.Cheers,Gian
October 18, 200619 yr You can modify the thrust scalar setting in a plane's aircraft.cfg file, to get enough power to push your 777 to orbit...RhettAMD 3700+ (@2.5 ghz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (94.47), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2 GB Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8, WD 250 gig 7200 rpm SATA2, CoolerMaster Praetorian Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB

October 19, 200619 yr ORBITER is a free flight simulator that goes beyond the confines of Earth's atmosphere.http://orbit.medphys.ucl.ac.uk/No 3D terrain by default, Ive been out of touch with Orbiter for awhile, there are some 3-D addons around, check their forum out.Must haves:OrbiterSound 3.0DeltaGliderIIIhttp://orbiter.dansteph.com/index.php?disp=d
October 19, 200619 yr Unfortunately there seems to be a *major* bug, both in the demos and retail.I placed an aircraft at high altitude and then let it fall, just to see what happened. Unfortunately, after falling to about 4 million feet (a few hundred miles) it starts to go up! It stays there, oscillating up and down. It may be that it will never reach the ground. If this is a real bug and not just on my system, then simulating re-entry from very high altitudes will be impossible.Best regards, Chris
