efb ngxu ctd in p3dv5

Recommended Posts

I tried installing the ngxu in p3dv5 but every time I try to use the efb it ctds.EFB is not working either in p3dv5 here.

Any of you managed to successfully install the ngxu in p3dv5?

Thanks

I have it working just fine. Did you do a copy over or a full install by pointing the installer to v5 by editing the registry?

I didn't have p3dv4 installed anymore. I just installed fresh the ngxu into p3dv5 by pointing the installer to v5. I did edit the registry before installing. Now the efb is not working right. If I look up an airport the efb returns nothing and then crashes p3dv5

It can't scan the airport database because it's still looking for v4 scenery and addon config files, so you can also not input airports into the performance pages in the EFB. Though it doesn't crash the sim for me, just gives me an error.

Just so we are clear.

The NGXu has NOT been updated for P3D v5 and is not supported in any way in v5. You are on your own for any issues arising from porting the v4 version into v5

The beta team has not received the NGXu yet as we just wound up the QOTS 747. Several developments worked on in the 747 will be worked into the NGXu.

Yes, everyone knows that. That's why we are talking about the regedit method and the EFB looking for v4 files.

If v4 is still in the reg there is no need to edit it, I have installed the NGXu several times by just renaming the two folders (my v4 folder is now empty) and it installed with no problems and everything working, one word of warning though, do not try to pop out any of the instruments. I have also successfully installed FS2Crew NGXu using the same method. First flight with both FS2Crew and ProATC X into LOWI below.

The NGXu and FS2Crew work fine for me too. However, I haven't been able to complete a flight because minutes after reaching T/C I always run into a blue screen telling me my computer ran into problems. I guess it's the sim. Probably have to wait for the next HF.
