June 1, 20206 yr After l loading Active Sky, Cloud Art and REX textures prior to loading P3D, all per the scenarios learned here from my fellow "much more knowledgable" pilots, I will often close down Active Sky and go to clear weather during a long cross country. My probably misguided logic is I have spent a small fortune in ORBX scenery software and if I find myself flying in my DC3 at 7500 feet with a 3000 foot ceiling I would rather enjoy the scenery than not during my LONG (around the world type) cross country flying. Do all the textures and cloud art data files that were loaded into P3D prior to loading and takeoff remain in my sim after closing Active Sky? I don't see any noticable changes, but I thought I would just ask those more versed in the subject. If I fly a LONG flight will I fly "out of" loaded data at some point? Thanks for any clarification! Bob
June 1, 20206 yr Moderator Stopping ActiveSky just stops the weather UPDATING - the existing clouds and weather will remain static. If you have FSUIPC , after disabling AS you could select "clear all weather" and you'd have clear skies. I'm pretty sure you could select the clear weather theme within P3D also. But do that after closing AS. Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
