FSX I'm Happy Now Got my FPS

Featured Replies

Well first this is what I have:AMD Athlon 64X2 Dual Core Processor 4400+ SLI140GB Hard DRiveATI X1900 512MB2.00GB RAMXP Home EditionHipper 580 Watt Modular Power PackI built this computer last spring just for FSX and when I loaded the game I was getting 4-6 FPS and no matter what I did nothing seem to help, I did get it up to 9 FPS (WOW) updated drivers, etc. and then I renamed my default.xmi to default.bak and went back and now I'm getting up to 36-40 FPS in the air and 21-24 FPS on the ground at Detroit Metro Airport with the following setting:Global Textures: Medium1280X960X32 screenGlobal Settings: Medium HighScenry Complexity: NormalWater Effects: HighAutogen: NormanlSpecial Effects: MediumAirlines: 97%General Aviation: 20%Airport Vechiles: MimumLand & Sea Traffic: 15%.Running very smooth so I guess it's a start.

Same here. That default.xml file just butchers the framerate.

ditto

Well -I renamed default.xml to default.bak, at the more rural airports, my FPS did shoot up. But, try this at KSEA.Sitting at KSEA with most everything maxed sliders to the right, I only got about 1-2 FPS increase. The detailed airports/cities are still a drain on FPS.JerryG

I'm glad someone is getting good FSX performance :). Your PC is very above-average, so that probably helps :)
