Laptop Opinion - Razer 15 (P3D)

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

Just wondering if anyone here has experience with using the Razer laptops for P3D? Currently I'm torn between two models and hoping someone here can shed some insight as unfortunately a desktop isn't an option for me.

Option 1

i7-10750H 6 Core (2.6/5.0)

RTX 2070 Max Q

Option 2

i7-10875 8 Core (2.3/5.1)

RTX 2080 Super Max Q

Otherwise both laptops are more or less the same with 16Gb Ram and SSD. Can anyone comment on the benefits of those processors/graphic cards over the other?

Appreciate your help

Aaron

If option 2 is in your budget go for it. With a laptop you need to get as much horsepower up front because you can't upgrade the processor and graphics card down the line.

Laptops (especially gaming ones) are way overpriced and cannot do the job well as a self-built desktop. Main problem is HEAT.

Yes, you (or others) out there might use laptops and say it's fine. But, the reality is if you want smooth simming with heavy addons, you need the best CPU and GPUs, and still OC them; this can only be accomplished with a very well ventilated large box, liquid cooled, etc.

However, if you're not into heavy clouds, AI or addons, you'll be fine with a gaming laptop and lowering the graphics sliders.
