June 18, 20205 yr Hello - I searched but could not find anything related to this so here goes... I don't know if I'm missing something or if this even makes sense, but while we are able to skip ahead, it seems the time still counts down the same. Would it make sense to have to time skip ahead as well when we skip procedures and checklists. For example, if I skip the preflight procedure, checklist, and boarding, can the clock go down to +15 minutes and have the loadsheet arrive without waiting? Thanks!
June 19, 20205 yr Commercial Member Not totally sure I follow, but fast forwarding the time can be done very quickly. There's no real advantage in having it automatically jump to certain points (assuming I'm following you correctly.) You can fast forward the Pre Flight event time so long as the FO is not running a flow. So when his flow is over, you can start fast forward the time again. Cheers, B. June 19, 20205 yr Author Sorry, my first message wasn't very clear. Here's a better description of what I'm seeing. I want to skip the Pre-Flight events so I start with the Pre-Flight checklist. At this point, there is no reference clock showing. The +30 clock that shows when you run the Pre-Flight events is not there. The next event up is the Before Start procedure. I would still like to get the audio requests that happen in between the Pre-Flight checklist and the Before Start procedure. There is no request from the FA to start boarding. There is no announcement of the final loadsheet arriving. There is no question from the FO about what to do with the APU. The FA does not ask if the flight deck door can be closed. Is it possible when skipping the Pre-Flight events to have the FA ask about boarding after the Pre-Flight checklist without waiting? Then, if we have not run the Pre-Flight events, just continue the flow from there with the loadsheet arriving, the FO asking about the APU, and then the FA asking to close the flight deck door. Since the countdown time is not displayed, I don't know if the simulation is actually still running based on that timer, and if I waited it would eventually have those audio clips, or whether they're skipped entirely when you don't run the Pre-Flight events. I like the audio interaction, but don't want to wait the 30+ minutes to get there. Hope that makes more sense. Thanks!
June 19, 20205 yr Commercial Member I think I follow you now... sorta 🙂 So you want to have the Pre-Flight Event actions, but you don't want a 30 minute timer. But again there's no point... because you can achieve the same result by clicking to the pre-flight events timer down -fast forwarding it. We don't expect you to sit there for 30 plus minutes. When I run the pre-flight events, I always use fast forward and have the whole thing done in like 4 minutes. I'm not sitting there for 30 minutes 🙂 B. June 19, 20205 yr Author Thanks! What I missed was the fast forwarding. After you mentioned that I searched the manual and found the little note about fast forwarding with the right click on the down arrow. I also discovered that you can click the Turn Around Time option in the secondary PF screen and that does the same once the events are running. What confused me was that when you skip the Pre-Flight Event actions, ie: don't run it, there is no timer to fast forward and you lose all the interaction between the Pre-Flight checklist and Before Start procedure. I will just always run the Pre-Flight Events and fast forward. Thanks again for your great support! Edited June 19, 20205 yr by dam54
