AI Lights Reborn V1.20.0 and P3D V5 HF2

Recommended Posts

Dear Customers,

Please note P3D V5 HF2 will introduce a considerable amount of changes with the effects particle system, most of these by our request and therefore it is very important to follow these steps after installing HF2:

Be sure you are running AI Lights Reborn to version 1.20.0 (which be released before HF2 is available to general public)

1.- Install HF2 (do not launch P3D yet).
2.- Set P3D V5 to launch as administrator.
3.- Launch P3D, You will see a new module from AI Lights Reborn starting and preparing all your shaders to work correctly with AILRP and HF2.
4.- Open AI Lights Reborn.
5.- Preview settings and confirm the effects are displaying as you require.

If you don't have AI Lights Reborn to version 1.20.0 and you installed HF2, P3D might hang upon start, so follow these steps:

1.- Install HF2 (do not launch P3D yet).
2.- Set P3D V5 to launch as administrator.
3.- Open AI Lights Reborn.
4.- Select Configuration.
5.- Select Scaling Technique P3D Default and click Apply.
6.- Launch P3D and let the initial shaders compile.
7.- Install the latest version of AI Lights Reborn (1.20.0)
8.- Re-adjust the scaling techniques as per your previous setting.

List of improvements of AILRP V 1.20.0:

  • Integration with Immersion Manager packages from //42 in order to make both programs compatible with effects compilation settings related to P3D V5 new rendering shaders.

  • Added a runtime configuration / shader verification tool for AI Lights Reborn. This ensures your simulator can start always smooth and have all the required up to date FSReborn required shader configuration in relation to your AI Lights Reborn settings. This also checks if you have installed any of the Immersion packages we work with //42 and ensures everything works as expected.

  • Compatibility with HF2.

  • No more orange landing, taxi, strobes, navs and beacons lights with Enhanced Atmospherics enabled (True Sky).

  • Add the option to override P3D Default landing lights effects -Including Dynamic lighting-. Previously we were only able to override textures, with the introduction of P3D V5 HF2 we are now able to override the entire landing light effect as a result, FSReborn landing lights are now able to:

    • Simulate light shimmering due to atmospheric effects.
    • Increase the amount of colour over long distance for landing / taxi lights allowing to implement really cool bloom effects.
    • Reduce the amount of Dynamic Lighting, as you might have noticed the default P3D landing lights are very strong and can cause issues with PBR textures.
    • Improvement on the scaling of the landing / taxi lights from close, mid and long distances.

To Enable the new landing lights open AI Lights Reborn configuration tab and enable this new option:

Also be sure to use the FSReborn scaling techniques optimised for your current screen resolution. This will ensure the best results with the landing lights.

List of known issues of AI Lights Reborn with P3D V5 HF2:

  • When overriding the default landing lights, these effects can be rendered some times despite of the heading / direction of the AI Models being facing away from the end user. This issue has been reported to Lockheed Martin who has acknowledged the problem and will work on a fix.

This video shows how the landing lights looks like with P3D V5 HF2 and AI Lights Reborn Professional edition:

As you can appreciate I configured the landing lights at 100% for the video to show them as big as possible for this video, but please configure as you desire on your end. In the video I am using the Landing Lights texture set "Cool Super Start" which is my favourite.

Kind Regards,
Simbol

The light shimmering is stunning, Simbol. Thank you for bringing this feature to AILRP. I know that this was for a long time on your roadmap and I am glad that HF2 finally allowed you to implement it.
