October 21, 200619 yr Hi folks,i tried putting FS9 clouds excellent textures overwriting all default clouds; why i keep getting those crappy M$ clouds all around?!? Which folder should i check other than FSXTEXTURE?Thanks in advance Luigi ;-)
October 21, 200619 yr Hi,The cloud texture files are different and FS9 clouds WILL NOT work in FSX.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
October 21, 200619 yr I have copied over Flight Environment clouds into FSX and they seem to be working fine.
October 21, 200619 yr I had teken a look at both the FS 9 and FS X clouds and they seem exactly the same to me. Same bitmaps, same 32-bit format, same size.Since I had resized the FS 9 clouds (made them smaller) and compressed them to DXT format, I tried placing them in FS X and they work very well, as long as I made sure to specify Render to Texture in the Display.cfg.Best regards.Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!

October 22, 200619 yr Hi All,Just an update from Damian... clouds will work. It is the sky textures that mess things up and cause a totally black sky.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://www.fseconomy.com/
October 22, 200619 yr Author Hi,well, sky from FS9 can work, providing you put a little effort in it ;)This is how I did it:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...id=362654&page=The difference seems to be that FS9 uses 24-bit files, while FSX uses 32-bit files. Works like a charm for me and it takes 5 minutes to set up per session (when I change the skies)Regards,Jure
