[Resolved] AI Lights Reborn Activation

Suddenly FSreborn AI lights wants me to activate my product, and when I do I am told that I have exceeded my allowed amount of activations, I have only done so ONCE during my first installation, I am very confused as to why the program is even demanding that I activate it...??

Boaz, while I understand your frustration, perhaps you may want to moderate your tone a little?  @simbol is usually extremely quick and efficient at providing support for his customers.  A polite request for help will probably elicit a much more favourable response to your problem, and earlier... 🙂

As per my email response to your request, your computer ID changed triggering a re-activation. I have now cleared everything and you should be able to activate everything again.

I am not treating my customer like criminals, these are standard DRM protections required to be in place to avoid real criminals stealing hard work, so far in the last 2 months:

  • Got several users that purchases the product, raise a dispute with Paypal without contacting me first to get the money back and pretend to continue using the software afterwards as it never happened. This is a well known SCAM in the flight sim community where some bad behaving customers perform such tricks to get the software, install it, claim the money back and after that they want continue using it for the rest of the product lifetime. It is very common to happen to airport add-on's and other 3rd party content difficult to protect.

    The security measures I have in place, prevent such behavior as I can BAN at will any license key rendering the product un-usable after that point. 
     
  • For the last 10 months, there have been several "Bids" and very high demands request on well know flight sim hacking sites asking hackers to crack AI Light Reborn and share it with the community despite I had a free edition available for everyone. This shows the real intentions from many out there to come and cause damage.

Therefore for the reasons stated above, these security measures will remain in place.

When everyone purchase the product an email with a link to a license portal is automatically sent as soon you activate the product, this email explains that via this portal you can logon yourself and manage your license yourself as well, this would allow you to:

  • De-activate an old computer id. Very useful if your PC fails and you cannot de-activate or you have an issue as per your email this morning.
  • Change your license password.
  • Ask for a license password reminder.
  • Manage your license information.

In any case you raised a ticket at 5am UK time, you received a response at 1pm UK time that is a re-solution in less than 6 hours over a weekend which is pretty good, normally I am even quicker but I went to bed at 4am today due to the release of Immersion manager V2 for Airbus as I was working with //42 (located in Canada and USA) and ORBX (Located in Australia) so there is a big time zone difference, so yes, I was sleeping all morning to recover my energies..

You would rarely find any other another developer able to be as quick as I am when it comes to support. This is because I care for my customers, so there no need to be rude or raise your tone as you did via these forums or via email.

But just to be clear, just because I care about my customers it doesn't mean I will tolerate abusive language from anyone.
