Radar Contact 4 cannot link to P3D

Recommended Posts

Hello, how do I make RC recognize P3Dv4.5? I have tried to link it to my P3D.exe but it won’t accept it. The program keeps asking for FSX-SE.exe. Thanks

Radar Contact connects to the sim indirectly via FSUIPC.  What do you mean you "tried to link it"?

Idk it keeps asking for a registry key so I just kept pressing ok then it downloaded and now it’s saying “looking for registry for FSX install path” and I tried to direct it to my P3D.exe but it’s saying not found

IIRC, you don't point to the executable, but to the directory it's located in.  I think P3D includes a copy of the fsx.exe executable in its main directory just for such programs, but if not, just make a copy of the Prepar3D.exe in your main P3D folder and rename it to fsx.exe and that should answer the mail when you point it there.

RC makes no reference to the Registry. It simply wants the location of FSX.EXE. As Bob has suggested you just need to create a FSX.EXE. You can also create a new text file and rename it to fsx.exe. Place it in the same folder as P3D.exe.

A search would reveal the answer.

Hello Ray I’m sorry I didn’t reply back I had tried to get it to work with v4.5 for about an hour that day with no luck. I’ve since switched to v5 and I know for a fact if I had trouble with getting it to work with 4.5 there’s no way I’d be able to do it with this new updated sim so I think for now I’ve thrown in the white towel with RC.

Hundreds of people have it working with P3D v4 and given v5 works on the same principle it will work with that version too. If you'd provided a screenshot of the problem I'm sure it could have been resolved.

Anyway, it sounds like you've bought another program so I hope you enjoy using that.
