Sky Colors of Enhanced Atmospherics

Featured Replies

I suppose this is purely subjective, but to me the sky colors of the "EA" option in P3D v5, especially at dusk/dawn sometimes appear to be incredibly unrealistic to my eye with weird red and purple landscapes, daytime is great however. Any opinions on this? I understand it's still beta but hope they are taking a look at the sky colors and atmospheric effects that come with it.

I fully agree with you about the colors. So far, it looks like they implemented the technological part of that feature, but little or no work was done to make the colors true to life. It's particularly bad at and after sunset, so I really hope they focus on that for the 5.1 release.

There's great promise in EA, and the daytime colors are quite good, plus the scattering is the best I've seen in any of the current sims (although it could probably be a bit more blue under some circumstances). I hope 5.1 comes sooner rather than later 😉

Agree....there are some moments were it looks really stunning and realistic. I find unrealistic clouds flying above FL300 in combination with SF. However in my case with EA looks much brighter at night...without VC is bit darker. Hopefully they will find some happy medium.

Yeah there is so much potential with the EA option that I hope they stick with it as the future of weather depiction in P3D. With Active Sky the cloudscapes can be unmatched.
