To be honest I tend to use Voxatc with GA aircraft, I'll give the 737NGXu a go and report back.

I've lost track of what PMDG has done to fix the 8.33 issue. The last official response (below) was months ago. The NGXu had an update in August but I have no idea whether 8.33 comm spacing was added.

 

None of the sims supported 8.33 spacing. This has changed with P3Dv5. We are going to implement 8.33 spacing for P3Dv5 but this will not be part of the first version of NGXu for v5
