scenery layer error mesages

Featured Replies

I have FSX-SE installed. Every time I load the game, I get a series of messages:

It starts with scenery.cfg file error local scenery (...\..\Playsims VFRPS\vol 8\vectors in scenery area 151 not found. click ok to continue.

And that's repeated 7 times up to layer 158. Only after clearing each message FSX launches. BTW I do not have the VFRPS addon sceneries (northern and southern Scotland) installed. maybe I used to in the past, can't remember.

I found a post which recommended using SeneryConfifEditor to solve the problem.

I used it to delete those layers, 152-158. but that didn't resolve the error messages, which appeared again.

So now I feel I made a mistake by deleting scenery areas in FSX.

What do I do?

Presumably that utility you used makes a backup before changes? Restore it, to get you back to where you started. Or restore from your own backups.

You have defintely had those sceneries in the past - the entries wouldn't be there otherwise. It looks as if you have removed them without deleting them from the FSX Scenery Library. Rather than use that utility, just delete them from the library there. As long as nothing is corrupted, FS will update the scenery.cfg file correctly.
