This reminds me of something a friend used to do with these kind of calls. The conversation would go something like this...

In a very brusque manner, he would ask the person how they got the number and tell them not to put the phone down, then he would partially cover the phone and shout, as if to a colleague something like: 'yeah I know, but you just make sure you get plenty of pics of those blood spatters on the wall, you know what the Super's like with that kind of thing in cases like these.' Then he'd continue. Sorry about that, where was I? Oh yes, now sir, if you wouldn't mind clarifying your relationship with the vict, erm, homeowner...

Needless to say, the phone call would end pretty quickly.
