October 23, 200619 yr Would like to know what the consensus is on Norton anti-virus and FSX. I disable it before I enter FSX but I've read numerous posts that mention norton is a CPU/memory drag even when disabled in the taskbar menu...read a post I believe in the AVSIM hardware section recommending uninstalling/cleaning out all of norton and loading a different AV like AVG etc. One of those necessary evils of simmers/gamers but curious if anyone has seen a performance boost in FSX after uninstalling norton?ThanksRake

October 23, 200619 yr Norton is 'bloatware' in the extremeDitch it and get something with a smaller footprint and which is more effective.I use NOD32 (ESET Software)and have been nothing but impressed.Glenn Glenn Ryzen 3700X, X570 Pro Wifi, 32GB 3600mhz RAM, Nvidia Titan Xp "Galactic Empire", RM750x PSU, H700 case, 2x NVMe M2 SSD, 1x SATA SSD
October 23, 200619 yr Me too....Norton is for grandmas with AOL. NOD32 is great. My only complaint with NOD32 is that there is no way to end it's process. But it has very small memory footprint so not a big deal.Matt
