Cessna 172 Skyhawk

Recommended Posts

Cessna 172 Skyhawk appears twice in the plane list:

  • in standard version (with G1000) and
  • in deluxe version.

What is the difference?

Cheers

Which one does everyone mostly fly nowadays? I tend to go for the 6 pack since its what I started simming on in 80's and 90's.

There are many more ones around with traditional gauges than there are with glass because there's been about forty-five thousand of the things built since the mid-Fifties if you include the Reims ones. Recent versions are also somewhat eclipsed by the fact that there are more practical alternatives which are cheaper to run, cheaper to maintain, have better performance and cost less. The cheapest brand-new 172 has a price tag of well over quarter of a million quid. But then again, it is the most successful aircraft ever built.

After posting my question, I found that both the planes are in FSX too.

I like the deluxe 172 because I am used to the GPS 500, also fitted in other planes. No need to learn the G1000.
