Caucasus region in MSFS

Featured Replies

Could anyone give any insight about the Caucasus region in MSFS (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia). This is a region with fantastic scenery and cities with amazing architecture, so it would be interesting to see pictures of them (including the airports) as long as it does not breach NDA. Unfortunately I do not own a computer to run MSFS, neither have I bought it so I cannot see for myself. I appreciate your help

Well none of the cities in the Caucasus have photogammetry so they'd all be generic buildings based on the shapes of the buildings in the satellite imagery.

What about the airports? All of the airports shown in Bing maps are terribly outdated (2010-2011 era images)

Then that is most likely what they look like in the sim, they use Bing images to make the airports.

The Sim isn't out yet so I can't tell you.

Well I definitely hope not, although I'm sure they would update it eventually

Everything will be updated eventually. But for now, what you see in Bing is what they use.

Just like FSX's airport database, which was outdated in a lot of ways, they had to pick a data source that would allow them to populate airports automatically because there are 37000 of them. That's the limit of the current technology. What we all hope is that the airport editor will be easy to use and that we can fix airports we want to fix.

Yeah. Download the Bing Maps app for WIndows 10 and you can see and visit all of them.

The app is just called 'Maps' by the way, not bing maps if you can't find it
