Reinstall needs to redownload?

Hey guys,

If I decided to add a new SSD later down the road and move MSFS to that, does that mean I will need to redownload the sim again? Or is there an installer package downloaded that can be ran later if a reinstall is needed?

When you have it in Steam: Just move the content from the steamapps\common\flightsim folder to your new SSD. Then "reinstall" FS20. It will recongize it and it will be ready again.

Works since years with all Steam games.

If you belong to the unlucky guys who chose the MS Store...then...good luck.

You can removed too. Look into Apps in your windows 10. right Click on the MSFS App, then remove and choose new drive. As simple as in Steam

Hello @ All,

so you can move the files to another drive but is there any chance to do a backup of those files in case you need to reinstall Windows or changing Hardware or whatever? Or do i need to Download the 100+GB again in this case? Would be nice to have a option for an offline Installation as soon as you have Downloaded all required files.
