August 18, 20205 yr Hi guys I wonder if someone can help me out here and explain how to use the marketplace to make a purchase? When I tried to purchase London city airport via the marketplace, I got the notification alert and when I clicked on the bell icon It says "purchase pending" and also opens another window that says "Purchase in progress" and just sits there indefinitely with no other prompts. I don't see anywhere to make a payment or anything like that so I am at a loss as to how I should proceed. Can someone who has made a successful purchase explain how it works please? Just for clarification, and not that it may even matter, but did you originally purchase through Steam or MS? August 18, 20205 yr Author I purchased through steam But I don't think that is an issue as it updated to the premium deluxe edition no problem.
August 19, 20205 yr Same issue here with the ORBX Landmarks London City Pack. Installed MSFS through Steam. ORBX marketplace purchase is "pending", no other feedback. Nothing has gone through on the account I use in Steam.
August 20, 20205 yr Author Solved! Many thanks to MSF forum member SpiffyMark for enlightening me. To use the marketplace on the Steam version you have to have the Steam overlay enabled. now if you dont know how to do that follow these steps. Open your Steam client. Click on the option named Steam present in the upper left side of the window. From the drop-down box select Settings to open the Settings interface. Once the Settings are opened, click on the In-Game tab present on the left side of the screen. Here you will see a checkbox stating “ Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game ”. Make sure it is checked. You can also check if you are pressing the correct Overlay shortcut keys. You can also change them if you want. Now click on the Library tab present at the top of the window. The games that are installed in your computer will be listed here. Right-click on the game in which the overlay isn’t working and select Properties. Here you will see another checkbox stating “ Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game ”. Make sure it is checked. Re-launch Steam and check if the overlay is working in that desired game. August 21, 20205 yr jepp, same problem. "the steam ovelay solution" dont help! iv tried everything, relay cant get my head around this!😵
September 14, 20205 yr The Steam overlay solution worked for me, for days I was not able to purchase, but now I can. The above was for the "purchase pending" issue. ======================================== Also, over in another Avsim thread, there is another issue, the Payment Failed notification issue: some people said that running FS NOT as an administrator would allow purchases, but running the sim as an administrator broke the the in game market place. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. September 17, 20205 yr Thanks. The Steam overlay worked. I had previously turned this off as it is suggested to do so in every FPS boost video on YT. It's a hassle but I'll probably just leave it off until I need to make a purchase and then re-enable it. But then again, FPS improvements have been getting better in MSFS 2020 so time will tell. Thanks for the update.
