cannot install from microsoft store, error 0x00000001

Featured Replies

I bought flight simulator on microsoft store and have it in my account.  However when pressing the blue installation button, I get to choose a drive but when pressing ok it does nothing. Other apps in the store install fine.

I do not seem to be the only one having this issue:  https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/xbox/forum/all/microsoft-flight-simulator-2020-wont-start-install/89b353d1-06a7-4dee-98d7-57e500bb5eed

Tried many things including installing from the xbox app where it also does not install, but at least an error code can be seen : 0x00000001

Then I tried https://www.reddit.com/r/XboxGamePassPC/comments/iabb5f/cant_install_any_games_after_latest_update_error/  and https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/xbox/forum/all/fix-for-game-pass-for-pc-admin-error-0x80070005/84dab93d-3297-43e8-ba6f-2eec05e63b31, but unfortunately it did not work.

It might have been a better option to purchase on steam, but the same errors might have occurred (also microsoft store required)? If not maybe I can get a refund and puchase on steam?

Anyone have any suggestions or has similar issues ?  Windows is on version 2004, and all drivers up to date.

I have to say I'm very disappointed, not so much with asobo (I'm sure all reported problems with the sim itself will be fixed and improved) , but with the way microsoft installs programs and there is no feedback on any installation errors. Why can't they just do like all other developers and install the 'normal' way ...

Regards
