  1. Another great Nvidia launch, full of disappointments and deceit. German news site „pcgameshardware“ says Founders cards were already sold out 30 minutes in advance - insiders got the link early.
  2. I also got the 'Unsupported', I just restarted my PC, started up MSFS 2024 and closed it, refreshed the list, didn't work, closed down the Nvidia App and opened it again and the preset option was available.
  3. Just being able to set up my views, hotkeys and fine-tune them old Chaseplane-style would be a massive quality-of-life improvement. I have a deep seated hatred for MSFS' clunky menus, controls and general view setup.
  4. I'm seeing a few people mention that some games, including MSFS / MSFS 2024 show up as 'unspported' when trying to do the DLSS override, despite both 2020 and 2024 being part of the officially named 75 initial games that support it. Not sure if that's a bug on Nvidia's side, if Asobo needs to do something or what.
  5. Yeah, should be possible. As per the thread we had here; https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/662669-dlss-4-dlls/ The DLSS Override function in the Nvidia App essentially does that; automatically replace the DLSS 2+ .dlls on a per game basis with the latest ones and always keeps them up to the date. The developers themselves can also update the .dlls to the latest model, meaning the app won't be needed to override.
  6. Nope. Big improvements for older generations with the new DLSS 4 model.
  7. Article: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/news/geforce-rtx-5090-5080-dlss-4-game-ready-driver/ Link: https://us.download.nvidia.com/Windows/572.16/572.16-desktop-win10-win11-64bit-international-dch-whql.exe Release Notes: https://us.download.nvidia.com/Windows/572.16/572.16-win11-win10-release-notes.pdf Make sure you install the latest Nvidia App to use the DLSS 4 override feature.
  8. Beta of the Nvidia App has been released https://us.download.nvidia.com/nvapp/client/11.0.2.308/NVIDIA_app_beta_v11.0.2.308.exe https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/software/nvidia-app/release-highlights/ Not sure if that contains the new DLSS override method EDIT: Okay false alarm, seems DLSS-swap still isn't enabled. Gotta wait until the 30th. My bad.
  9. dlssd is for ray reconstruction, which isn't used by MSFS, so that's definitely not needed.
  10. Nope, it should do it automatically, so when you DLSS 4 'override' a compatible game it'll pull in and inject the required (and latest) .dlls, that's the beauty of the new method. Eventually it'll become compatible with every single DLSS 2+ game, because it doesn't necessarily require action from the developer, it'll just hijack the old files / injection method and replace them. The developers can also do it themselves, so the Nvidia App isn't required, like Cyberpunk did.
  11. nvngx_dlssd.dll is for Ray Recontruction
  12. The old control panel can't be removed and will be available in its usual location, so you just install the Nvidia App alongside and use that for whatever you need.
  13. My understanding is it'll be Nvidia App only, mainly because they are trying to phase out the old control panel and it won't see new features. On another note, read a few mentions that people saw a performance decrease in using the new DLSS 4 .dlls. However, some discovered you can actually get a hold of a new 571.96 driver that has RTX 5xxx support, inside a CUDA toolkit update and that driver improved performance with DLSS 4. So that's good news. Note the above driver does NOT have the updated Nvidia App, so no point in downloading it for forcing DLSS 4, still gotta wait.
  14. Can find it here; Yup, once the drivers release they can handle the whole process and inject DLSS 4 into any DLSS 2+ game.
  15. Here's the guide from Reddit; https://reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/1i82rp6/dlss_4_dlls_from_cyberpunk_patch_221/
  16. You need to use the J profile with the modified NVInspector. DLSS swapping is not enough it seems Also mentioned on the DLSS Updater page; https://github.com/Recol/DLSS-Updater/releases/tag/V2.6.5 "(Hint: Use profile J with NVInspector)"
  17. https://reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/1i82rp6/dlss_4_dlls_from_cyberpunk_patch_221/ Don't think you can just replace the .dll if I'm reading this correctly, seems like you need to force the model as well to get the proper result? In any case, crossing fingers for new drivers being right around the corner now that the 5xxx embargo is up, so we can do this natively through the drivers. EDIT: Hmm, seems people are saying the 30th? Had expected them to drop earlier. That's a shame.
  18. I'll just wait for the new drivers, they should render DLSS swapping a thing of the past as they will naturally let you inject the new DLSS4 model into any DLSS 2+ application Correct
  19. Eh. Kinda burned out on Aerosoft's approach to addon support. They release something, full of bugs and leave it like that for months or years, then you realize said update is also full of problems, it gets a hotfix or two and then it's again left in this wonky state. Doesn't really make me want to commit to their planes.
  20. Disagree 100%, paying to play online, on limited hardware, in a closed ecosystem, limited input choice, limited modding ability, no upgrade paths outside of buying brand new, no secondary monitor, no multi-purpose device, locked at hilariously low framerates and medium settings. Console gaming is awful.
  21. Right now I'll just wait it out with Windows updates (new one coming on the 14th) and see. If any issues persist in a month, I'll just find the 23H2 clean ISO and kill updates or get back on Ghost Spectre, should be easy to find a fresh 23H2 version of that.
  22. Thanks for the testing and confirmation Noel, going to be interesting to see if any upcoming updates will solve it or we'll all be considering rolling back.
  23. Would be absolutely amazing to be able to use DLAA again, even includes increased performance and less VRAM usage for 4000-series user.
  24. While I haven't seen what you are describing myself, there's maybe two things that could play in; if you are using frame generation at lower framerates, like base framerate at 30, you could run into visible artifacts from the frame-generation, as it's recommended the base framerate is 50-60. Though I run 90FPS, i.e base at 45 and that's okay. Other one is something I've experienced myself, is an intense, subtle strobing effect that was tied to when framerate got too low because Nvidia has an on-going issue with G-Sync / Freesync / VRR in general that can induce that strobing. Apparently it should be fixed in an upcoming driver. We've spoken about this before, I know you use RTSS to cap FG even though it's generally not recommended, something in that process might induce that specific VRR strobing. And it's funny because I also have an LG Ultrawide 3440x1440 IPS panel and I think I've seen the exact strobing you might be referring to which was due to VRR. Though it wasn't binary, like below VRR range it would happen, above it would not. The second it was induced, it felt like it wouldn't really go away, it would happen even within VRR range, it was very weird. Then next session it wasn't there. The little judder as you move between monitors, I don't think has a name as such or is something they are focusing on. Though it is somewhat less in 2024 for me it's still there but I hardly notice it. We'll have to see when the 5000-series launch at the end of the month and the driver releases what the status is. That's where all the new DLSS4 stuff should be available to us.
