DLSS 4 Ghosting

Featured Replies

For those of us using DLSS and blurry glass cockpits, this looks to be fixed or rather, much much improved with DLSS 4. I guess this will divide opinions as only RTX 5xxx can get DLSS4 (EDIT: Actually not sure thats entirely true, can anyone confirm!?)

I thought that the price I purchased my 4080 at around covid was astronomical.  There's no way I could see myself shelling out the cash for a 5xxx card in the next 3 years for sure.

It's odd that the 5080 only has 16 GB vram.  I can definitely say in 2024, my 4080 is saturated the moment you add in payware aircraft and scenery.  I'm not sure if it's an issue with non native addons or what but it's frustrating.  Hard to use VR in the new sim.

My 24GB 3090 actually runs MSFS2024 very well (with no DLSS ghosting I might add) but I might go for a new system in 2026, to include a 5090.

What's your TLOD, resolution and vram consumption?  I'm just really curious.

I tend to run 400 in everywhere except big cities.  I have to dial it way back to 200.

IMO TLOD of 400 is like 200 clarity in 2020.  200 in 24 is barely 100 in 2020.

Default TLOD is 200 and I haven't needed to change it. I had it at 200 in 2020 and to me, this looks better than that did!

I think it's more or less the LOD issues in 2024.  Some areas are pretty sharp at 200 but sometimes they are blurred.

I will try 400 and see. I have only gone down on a few things compared to 2024 not up, but for me most things (trees in particular) look better in High or even Medium compared to Ultra. In 2020 I was Ultra everything.

Interested in this. I’m on a 3090 alongside an i7 14700k and 64gb RAM.   Are you using the DLSS swapper? And what about the frame gen mod?

cheers

Would be absolutely amazing to be able to use DLAA again, even includes increased performance and less VRAM usage for 4000-series user.

DLSS is 3.8.1, not using frame gen, auto fps or any other mod.

Noted. I’ll have a play around. I’d happily avoid upgrading my 3090 but am starting to feel like I’m missing out….but don’t think I’d dip under 24gb now and I’m not ready to buy a 5090!!!

have you flown the Fenix with these settings? Any ghosting etc if so?

Maybe some „brains“ will also manage to get DLSS4 working on older cards like it was with FG on 30xx cards?!

No, I'm GA only. Nothing bigger than the Honda Jet 🙂

Maybe, just maybe, I am going to wait for the 5070. Just maybe.

I can confirm that this is entirely not true. only multi frame generation is RTX 5000 exclusive, but perhaps that's what you were referring to.

as of yet I fail to see how I will spend $ 2.000 for going from lets say 120 fps using RTX 4000's current FrameGeneration to 180 fps using DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation. but again, Capt.Piet will be the first to show us 240 fps at Heathrow from his airliner cockpit. check back this thread on january 30.
