We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically.

Today on NewEgg a 4090 is over $4k.  The beauty of MSFS2024 is that my 5900x / 3060ts is the sweet spot so my wallet remains in the pocket.

Which is interesting, as they are kind of panic-dumping them on Ebay.

My main wish is to learn what RTX 50x' MFG at 8x w/ DLSS4 does for FG related artifact.  Right now I use workarounds to cope with those and they work but I do miss my 4 years of native rendering and its superior IQ.  I will bet a frame rate of 240+ will make strobe/flicker artifacts disappear and those are the type of artifact I use workarounds to deal with.  If that's the case I may well spring for 5090.

It seems that nvidia are leaning hard on Frame Generation to provide the performance boost on the 5xxx series cards and I'll be honest I'm unconvinced how well that works in flight sims, especially in planes with glass displays rather than steam gagues.

The latest CPU’s are the bottle neck in MSFS2020, even with a 4070Ti Super.

With a 5090, the bottleneck is growing not the FPS count. Huge $$$ for marginal gains.

Very poor improvement.

NVIDIA Drivers or MSFS2020/2024 unoptimized yet?

Nope just a lackluster card, or really generation. It's not just MSFS, the raster performance on both the 5080 and 5090 are abysmal consideration the increase in price, power usage and move to GDDR7.

At this rate I'd argue the 5060 is going to have a negative improvement in raster compared to its predecesor when then 5090 and 5080 have a 30% and 7% improvements in raster respectively.

That's right, if you're running in Ultra and are limited by main thread then it's pointless to upgrade the GPU.

Msfs 2024 needs optimised. A lot. And a new cpu would be way better than a new gpu unless you’re rocking some old gpu…

I don't mind spending money but those prices are just stupid no thanks

The cards aren’t a huge improvement either

I'll soon have both. I already have a 9800X3D for my new build. I've just pre ordered a 5090. Only one catch.... I'll receive it sometime between 2 and 12 weeks. Hopefully it's sooner rather than later.
