MSFS 2024 has 4000x more geometry detail than MSFS 2020
Anyone participating in these forums over the past 6+ months well knows that @abrams_tank posts news, info, and tidbits about MSFS 2024. He is obviously excited about the sim, and shares that enthusiasm here on the forum, which is part of what this forum is designed for, correct? Even if something has been covered before, there is no guarantee that everyone got the memo, so there is no harm in reiterating old news. Certainly not enough to “call someone out” over it. Your analogy here fails as P3D has its own forum. MSFS is a “combined” forum…even after folk called for “separate” forums. Nonetheless, if someone is going to point out features about MSFS20 or MSFS24 in comparison to each other, users etc., then they have no choice but to put it in the combined forum. I think that the holes in your analogy illustrates the leaps that someone has to go through to find something wrong with what the OP presented. And yes, we can agree to disagree…

Interesting....Boeing using MSFS as training platform
The Boeing training shows how MSFS spans the field in its usefulness. From Career Mode to Missions / Challenges to the more sophisticated avionics by World Title, MSFS offers something for everyone (at every level) including training. I took note of the training aspect when Sportys online flight school adopted MSFS in their supplemental training exercises, even building a freeware airport for MSFS. I am pretty sure that in the next 5 - 10 years, there will be some pilot (at any level) recounting how it all started with an xbox and a gaming pad, to a more sophisticated flight sim set up, to flight school, to where they are now…and how they have used MSFS in some form at every stage.

A Call to Asobo: Fix the Core of MSFS
So are you saying that professional pilots are not trying to make money on YT as well? Flightdeck2sim has a members only section for some vids, that requires money to view, correct? Plus, his statement (to me) was to address simply "watching" YT in general to base one's opinion about sim without actually "trying" it for yourself. As there are many content creators out there passing their opinions (good or bad) with the "main" objective of building a subscription base and view counts to make money.

A Call to Asobo: Fix the Core of MSFS
The majority here can see the intentions behind your post.... MSFS20 and MSFS24 are the top "2" selling sims with millions of users and now with MSFS24 on 3 major platforms (PC, XB, & PS). We can compare all day and claim that MSFS is not this or that, but we cannot ignore the facts in bold above. So apparently MSFS is doing something (or some things) right. Asobo got the "call"...by the millions.

MSFS compared to X Plane
Good Video. There is nothing wrong with comparing and respecting each other's opinion. XP12 looks good, MSFS looks much better in many areas and ticks more boxes (missions etc) for me to use it 100% of the time. The 3rd Party support for Helis like Miltech and HPG are second to none. Happy flying folks...

XP12 now has weather radar. Why can’t MSFS 2024?
So wait, there is an addon that stops the pop-in sign (and parked airplanes?) at the airport? If so, what is this addon?

2020 still has its fans
I wonder how many MSFS20 users purchased MSFS24, and then decided to go back. If I had the time to invest in swapping out my MSFS24 for MSFS20, I would do it for now. But ultimately, I figure that I would come back to MSFS24 after a few more sim updates. For now, I just have to deal with the botched flight planner / EFB / Website planner and neglected default planes, and enjoy it for what I can get out of it until better days. But I can certainly understand why there is still a huge MSFS20 user base.

Pipistrel Virus SW121 throttle mapping
I have a Virpil throttle and have to map both the throttle and prop for the Pipestrel Virus SW121. Fair warning, the Virus has serious Autopilot and avionics issues, particularly when loading in a flight plan. It is a frustrating realization for a simple plane that should have been be a lot of fun, especially given the air brakes. If you can get a refund, I recommend that you do so. Any of the Tecnam small planes are a better experience, especially the model that uses the native G3X.

SU3 Beta 1.5.23.0 Out
I noticed both a performance increase (panning); more planes and now "parked" cars at some of the smaller airports that did not show in the earlier builds. We are getting there, although I think it will be another another year before we get to where we should have been at launch.

MSFS is it’s own worst enemy
That is why the title of this thread is so fitting. MSFS created this 2 sim debacle (MSFS2020 vs MSFS2024) along with a botched launch for MSFS2024. I def don't know MSFS financial situation, but I can't imagine that they reached any financial target goals for MSFS2024, starting with the late opening of the marketplace. I have only purchased 1 aircraft (MSFS2020 native) for MSFS2024 and that is all the extras that I have in MSFS2024. This pales in comparison to the 300+ addons that I had accumulated for MSFS2020 (about 50 payware) over 4 years. I am just not going to invest that much in addons anymore if they are just going to make another sim 3 years from now that further fragments what can and can't be used, or what is optimized for what version and not. I learned to keep it simple, as close to stock as possible and be happy with that.

Very nice video of MSFS 2024
Hmmmm, I suspect that this is a real video being pushed off as MSFS. I mean, these types of posts have been known to pop up on Avsim. LOL. Jokes aside, this vid is one reason why I stick with MSFS2024 despite its issues. Another year or so, this sim is going to really shine above all of the teething that we see now.

My first impressions of MSFS 2024
I do agree that if you want to fly with no hassle, stick with MSFS2020. I toggled back and forth a bit but MSFS2024 is the only sim that I fly (having deleted MSFS2020). I do mostly GA flying with smaller aircraft, and the ground handling / taxiing in MSFS2024 won me over (no more feeling like I am on ice). But I can certainly understand someone who chooses / sees MSFS2020 as the better sim right now depending on how they use it.

Should / Will MSFS host their own Expo in the Future?
1) MSFS has brought million of consumers to flight simmimg. Fact 2) Many 3PDevs have flocked to MSFS, some abandoning all other sim platforms. Fact 3) Since the release of MSFS, many filght hardware devs have entered the flight sim space making both PC and X-box hardware, one or more branding their product after MSFS. Fact 4) The flight Expo attracts these same consumers, 3PDevs, and hardware developers. Fact 5) MSFS popularity has a direct impact on the popularity of the Expo and Flight simming. Fact A clear sign of when you have lost an argument, is when you resort to comments like "worship the alter" because you can't change the facts, and you can't fool the other person into being distracted from the facts while you offer your own "opinion" in denial of the facts.

Should / Will MSFS host their own Expo in the Future?
Try presenting a cognitive post that relates to the topic, and not laced with the kind of ad hominem attacks that usually spiral out of control and eventually get threads closed. You do know my forum handle, correct? Its on the left of my post. PROVE that you can constructively add to the conversation.
