November 6, 2025Nov 6 Pinched from over on the PMDG forum... https://boeing.mediaroom.com/2025-11-06-Boeing-Pioneering-Next-Generation-Training-Tools-with-Launch-of-Virtual-Airplane https://services.boeing.com/training-solutions/flight-training/virtual-airplane Presumably part of this is the commercial contract work PMDG were undertaking for Boeing earlier in the year... November 6, 2025Nov 6 Seems good for the future of the MSFS franchise in multiple aspects. Prost, Mr. Neumann! 😊 Ah, may I suggest to change the thread title? 'Boeing uses MSFS as training platform'? November 6, 2025Nov 6 Nice! Looks like Microsoft Flight Simulator has met whatever requirements for Boeing requires for this product! I can definitely see MSFS being used more and more frequently by commercial companies, as the years roll by. i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM

November 6, 2025Nov 6 How cool is this for MSFS! Whether PMDG is involved or not, would love to get more details and insights into this project. Maybe MS/Asobo might give more details on a future update. Of course if PMDG is involved would love to hear more details there too (RSR is never short on words and this is one of those times I'd love for him to let loose on the verbage and whole sordid history behind this 😂) Len 1980s: Sublogic FS II on C64 ---> 1990s: Flight Unlimited I/II, MSFS 95/98 ---> 2000s/2010s: FS/X, P3D, XP ---> 2020+: MSFS Current system: i9 13900K, RTX 4090, 64GB DDR5 4800 RAM, 4TB NVMe SSD

November 6, 2025Nov 6 Interesting bit in https://services.boeing.com/training-solutions/flight-training/virtual-airplane , from a PMDG perspective: What models can I get now, and what’s coming next? At launch, Virtual Airplane’s first module (the Procedures Trainer, VAPT) supports the 737 8 MAX. Additional airplane models will be rolled out over time as we expand the platform. November 6, 2025Nov 6 “It’s just a game”🙈 As I’ve always maintained “it” is just a piece of software, it’s the the user and how it’s being used that determines if it is a game ..or a training tool. This should be a big improvement, there is a bit of software which is used in the briefing room and training departments which I believe is called something like the desktop training tool. Even as a flight sim enthusiast I find it an incredibly dry and boring software to use, so MSFS should prove to be a lot more entertaining….even game like in comparison you could say 😉 787 captain. November 6, 2025Nov 6 Funny how people were literally accusing PMDG of making this up as an excuse for delaying their MAX in MSFS... Pepperidge Farm Remembers Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk

Avsim has a lot of real life pilots (FYI, I am not a real life pilot). By far, the MSFS forum is the most active forum on Avsim. I am going to guess, most of the real life pilots at Avsim prefer MSFS as their primary civillian flight simulator, at least this is what I notice, based on the sheer activity of the MSFS forum here at Avsim. i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM
