How to set a 4k resolution in MSFS 2020

Featured Replies

My UHD TCL TV is connected to my PC via HDMI. Screen resolution is 3840x2160.  I have an i9 9900k, a 2080Ti and 32gbs of memory. Yet when I go to the settings in MSFS my highest option 1920x1080.  All other graphics settings are on ultra.  Thanks in advance!

IHave you tried setting 4k with some other game? I had some slow hdmi cables create this kind of problems.

Thanks but no I will try this also double check the type of HDMI cable.  I assumed since windows 10 allowed me to set the screen resolution to 3840x2160 that I was good to go!

I had the same issue and the root cause was my Windows screen settings were setup to duplicate my primary 4k monitor to my 2nd 1080p monitor. So the max resolution showing in MSFS was 1920x1080. After changing the Windows screen settings to "Show Only on 1", the problem went away. Or I could just unplug the 2nd monitor.

I had an HDMI connection to my 24" 4k display. Unreliable at best. I know this is no real help but I switched Back to displayport and things are fine now. It is not the first time I have heard of difficulties with HDMI connections to PC monitors. Perhaps resetting the display monitor to default, switching it back to HDMI and reconnect the Port.??
