August 20, 20205 yr The graphics are great but I am not impressed at all with the rest of this flight sim. It was a waste of 120.00. While my Slaw Viper RX rudder pedals yaw axes work the brakes do not. My honeycomb yoke works fine but I spent some good money on a Saitek switch panel that is worthless with MSFS. The hat (POV) function is abysmal and not being able to use all three of my monitors as I do in X plane is irritating. I’m going to stay with X plane 11 and chalk up this MSFS expenditure to stupidity.

I know you weren't asking for help, but if you want to get the cameras in somewhat better shape, I did some screenshots of how to get the hat to work how it did in P3D at least. And as for the random zoom, I think that's called something like SmartCamera and can be turned off. I turned it off right away. Otherwise it looks at POIs and instruments and stuff at seemingly random times... You can also adjust the zoom and motion speed in the camera options... Thank you! I will check this out.

It is going to be good.. it will take some time and aftermarket to sort it all out. But I am having a blast, and never, ever have I been riveted to the screen for hours (much to my wifes dismay) just cruising around taking in the sites. The world and weather is beautifully depicted. Today I took off in Northern Oregon, flew out to Crater Lake, not sure if the weather would let me see it. Saw it in all its glory, then headed south, but was able to dodge weather to eventually get to Northern California. Just navigating by roads, towns, lakes... Dead reckoning. And so much to see and look at. You do need a pretty good PC though... and it was not without its issues... some odd textures and things. But I am confident it will be fixed.

Having the whole earth depicted in high detail is astounding - a superb base for add on developers to enhance. Default aircraft sufficient until study level aircraft from the likes of A2A and PMDG arrive. There are some expected rough edges from such a complex simulator in the first couple of days, but a superb first version that will only improve. Well done Microsoft and partners! Agreed! It is the bottom floor, it is going to be great!
