August 23, 20205 yr If you haven't heard of using Nyogel 767A damping grease to change the way your HOTAS setup feels, I thoroughly recommend it! As many of us know, in the UK, this stuff costs nearly £50 for a 100g tube (inc shipping and VAT), and you only need 1g to do a whole setup. youtube.com/watch?v=YLHryneLc5M For a limited time (until the tube runs out), you can buy Nyogel 767A on eBay in 1g amounts. 1g is plenty to do a Thrustmaster T1600M joystick and matching throttle (get 2g if you want to do rudder pedals too, and replace that spring!) www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nyogel-767A-1g-Tub/164344507091 UK-based, international shipping available at eBay rates 😞 Edited August 23, 20205 yr by chris_uk_83
August 23, 20205 yr Interesting.. I have the TM HOTAS X and TFRP rudder pedals. I have the joystick tensioner backed right off - there is still a little bit of self centring, which is fine by me. I may look into this grease in the future (I realise that prices may change, as and when your tube runs out!). I think I'm answering my own question here - the TFRP pedals have the shafts open for all the world to see. Given that they spend time on the floor (obviously! ) and we have three dogs I assume putting grease on that would not be the best idea ever. By your "replace that spring" comment, you mean removing the self centring spring of any rudder pedals? June 25, 20214 yr Sorry for bring up the old one, but this really helps I don't have 767A readly available sell in my region, so I got some other damp grease about 30000cst. Now my TFPR can finally move to any position I want smoothlly, save me $500 to go to some heavy metal. I also added some on TCA throttle's adjustable damping surface, now I don't need to screw it tight thus give some bounce back when relase hand, but still damped enough for movement. But Noticed, this kind of dump grease doesn't work on the roller type as my VKB joystick use, as the roller will roll leave the cam, it will give some "tear off" effect if there re grease between them. there are dedicated damper system on VKB gunfighter, but It's hard to open it to add grease, the default damping is as plastec as other one, so I didn't tight it in, so I use it without danper for quite long, but OK with just spring.
