Flight Plans Causing Performance Issues

Featured Replies

I remember seeing this the other day but can't find the thread again.

Are long range flight plans causing FPS crashes?  I did a flight in the TBH from KPDX to KSFO and I was getting very good performance until I got to crusing altitude. Then, about every 3 or 4 minutes, all my CPU cores would spike to 100% and my FPS would plummet to like 10 for a few seconds.

I was over rural scenery.  Beautiful mountain scenery, but no cities.

Is anyone else experiencing this.  Has anyone found a fix?

Thanks very much.

The issue is caused by the scarce optimization of the aircraft displays, which depend on Coherent GT Draw. See here: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/limited-by-coherentgtdraw/158416/7

And here: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/poor-fps-good-setup/133471/18

Hopefully they will patch it.

Hey Fuzzy!

Wanted to thank you so much for those links! In the second one, someone talks about disabling the VFR map as an option from the in in flight UI menu.     As soon as I did that?   Boom fixed.

Same flight, same time of day, same weather, everything.       I had one spike but it was as soon as I switched to external camera and it went right away!

Thanks again!   This was a game changer for me!

Glad to help!

Disabling the VFR map helps but microstutters due to CoherentGTDraw remain. This definitely needs a fix.

Yeah.    Finishing up the flight, its happened a few times but not anywhere near as frequent and much less severe.

Youre right though, it needs to be addressed.
