Modifying Starting Altitude? Possible

Featured Replies

I'm trying to setup the sim to practice approaches and while I can click anywhere on the map to start a custom "airborne" departure, I don't appear able to choose starting altitude.  If I choose a "landmark" as a starting location, it almost always puts me at something like 150 ft.  Has anyone had any luck with defining what "altitude" you want to start at when choosing to start a flight "mid flight"?

Thanks in advance.

Get VFR Explorer from rksoftware and start anywhere, now also with teleporting to any position and altitude.

Have you tried going into the Navlog (partway down on right hand side) and changing the height? Fairly certain that should work.

That seems to affect your cruising altitude not starting one. I’ll keep looking

YMMV but when I experimented with a custom waypoint I started at the height I put in there. The diagram it puts at the top seems to be slightly misleading.
