OBS Mode Missing in Cessna 172 G1000

Featured Replies

I notice that the OBS button is missing from between the PFD and CDI key on the primary display. Is the OBS function completely missing? Or is there a way to use it somehow still? Thanks.

I've mapped the OBS increase/decrease degrees to keyboard keys. I did the same to HDG, ALT and VS. Way better than mouse clicking.

There’s no OBS button - it’s a spinning dial labeled “CRS” on the left. CDI has a button on the bottom of the PFD.

Sorry, but just to confirm, there is no way to draw an OBS line on the MFD by using the OBS mode to tune in a course? In other words, normally when you use a G1000 and you navigate direct to a given airport, you can use OBS mode to dial in the runway heading. So if it's runway 19, you'd hit OBS and turn the CRS knob to 190 degrees and you'd have a nice magenta line extending from the airport your flying to and tracking along the runway heading out to eternity on your right side display.

There is not currently, no.   This is one of the things that's at the top of my list to see if I can get into my G1000 mod once I take care of the low-hanging fruit left over from my first release.  I'm not sure how much I'll be able to fix, but I dang sure want to try.
