missing fsx.exe (resolved)

Featured Replies

Hi,

I bought Flight Simulator from Microsoft and downloaded it from their site. I purchased Reality-XP GNS  530. I am not able to install because I cannot find the file fsx.exe. I think maybe Microsoft has change the name.  In the folder where it is supposed to be there is "FlightSimulator.exe" instead.

I have tried deleting and reinstalling the program. I have searched every wear for the fsx.exe. I have tried everything.

I am on window 10.

Is there something I am doing wrong? Is there a fix for this?

Charles

The RealityXP GNS is for Flight Simulator X, the product released in 2006 (and then again in 2014 by Dovetail Games under license from M$ on the Steam platform).  It won't work on the new MSFS that was released last month.

Thanks for the quick response. I just missed that important piece of information. Their website does not mention that.

Hi Bob,

I find your comment reductive because the Reality XP GNS V2 is compatible with much more than this*:

The Reality XP GNS 530W/430W V2 is the genuine simulated device users are counting on, whether pilots familiarizing themselves with the workings of the actual equipment or flight simulation enthusiasts navigating the virtual skies with the most complete series of GNS devices.

The Reality XP GNS 530W/430W V2 is an add-on for:

  • All Prepar3d editions (P3D5, P3D4, P3D3, P3D2, P3D1)
  • Flight Simulator X - Steam Edition (FSX-SE)
  • Flight Simulator X  (FSX-ACC/SP2)
  • Flight Simulator 2004 (FS9-SP1)
  • Win7 to Win10
  • It is even compatible with Microsoft ESP (but undocumented)!

I understand there could be confusion and we're trying our best to make it clearer.

In addition to the User's Manual p3, it is indicated in different places in the block with the "download e-commerce installer" buttons in our web site:

  • Explicitly at the bottom of the block with the "download e-commerce installer" buttons here:
    http://reality-xp.com/index.html#pricing
  • Implicitly by the absence of any FS2020 logo above each "download e-commerce installer" buttons.
  • Compatibility is also clearly indicated in the e-commerce enabled installer prior purchasing.

*As found at www.reality-xp.com and in the RXP GNS V2 User's Manual p3,

OK, but my point is that it is *not* compatible with the new MSFS 2020, which is the version of Microsoft Flight Simulator the OP is using.
