September 4, 20205 yr Anyone else seeing this? I've added red lines for emphasis. What I'm seeing is a gap in the autogen trees that "follows" my plane. It's not LOD, nor is it map-based, since trees further out are filled in, and as I fly away from the gap, the "blocks" further out will fill in right in front of my eyes (pop), while trees in the blocks that I'm flying towards disappear. It may not appear to be a "big deal" in a still shot, but in motion it's actually pretty jarring. I've tried a variety of settings, but nothing seems to change this. I'm assuming it's a bug, but I wonder if I'm the only one experiencing this? Maybe it's a graphics driver issue? I haven't updated my Nvidia driver since downloading MSFS. Sometimes new drivers makes things worse instead of better, so I tend to only update if there's a good reason!
September 4, 20205 yr Generating trees (at high density) with ScenProc it was fairly common to end up with clear cut sections. It was speculated to be a memory limitation. One would assume that an Azure farm with essentially unlimited resources would not have that problem. I9-10900K 32GB DDR4 @3000 RTX3080TI 11GB VRAM. Factory clock. HP Reverb G2

That's not how LOD is supposed to work. I've also moved the LOD slider all over, including maxed out, and it didn't change this gap issue. I don't always notice this gap BTW. It might me related to my altitude. I often cruise between 4000 and 6000 ft in my Cessna. I'll try a turboprop later and see what happens as I go even higher, to see if the gap fills back in again.
September 5, 20205 yr Author Meanwhile Boston is overrun with trees like some post-apocalyptic wasteland city. Why even have autogen trees added to a photogrammetry-enabled city? Can anyone else confirm?
September 10, 20205 yr Same problem here with gaps in autogen trees. I also played with the settings ... and no solution found. I fear it is a performance/memory problem. My computer is not very performant. What about your computer?

My computer has plenty of horsepower (I'm happily playing with a mix of high and ultra settings), but I did discover I needed more virtual memory to avoid CTDs over busy areas. I've since greatly increased my swap file size, which cured the CTDs, but I haven't checked yet to see if this has any effect on my tree issue. An upgrade from 16 to 32 GB RAM is definitely on my shopping list 🤗
September 10, 20205 yr I can't say I have noticed this issue during similar altitude flights also in a Cessna. But I shall look out for it when I continue my cross country this evening. Modest system but upgraded to 32gb RAM before release. LOD and similar slider maxed out. My main issue with it is that the "circle" of detail around my aircraft could be bigger, morphing scenery and pop in was very obvious in certain parts of the Washington mountain ranges for some time but since then this has calmed down. Near Los Angeles for my last flight, city doesn't look as dense as it could from a long distance but I suppose I'm hardware limited to some respect. Currently circumnavigating the world in a mix of Cessna and Piper aircraft. My Default Setup; MSFS, Honeycomb Alpha, Thrustmaster Hotas X, TrackIR, Samsung Galaxy Tab, JustFlight Piper Arrow. Simworks Quest Kodiak 100. Wishlist; Honeycomb Bravo, Honeycomb Charlie. 1:400 Airline Model Collector.
